On the 8th of August 2021, this project picked up its first awards at the NSRA Hot rod Supernationals at Old Warden, taking a show-wide top 10 and the Liberty and Lows pick of the show.
On the 22nd of August 2021, this project picked up its 3rd award, winning second place in the ‘Best American Truck’ category at Convoy in the Park.

This is the biggest machine ever to roll out of the Shack. Beginning life in the US way back in ‘55, this truck came to us in a bit of a sorry state, although cab had held up well to the rigours of time.
We begin by disassembling the entire vehicle and taking it back to bare metal. From there, Jack and the team began to restore, repair and improve, always with one goal in mind – creating a British-built truck that would put Jack’s Shack on the map both in the UK and in the US – with this huge machine, we believe the team has done just that!
This truck is immaculate inside and out, there is not a scratch, not a bump, not a ridge, not a scuff and not a mark. There are new cars that leave factories that are not as clean as this machine!
Under the ‘hood’ much has changed, modern running gear and DAF 45 axels are under the control of a ZF 5-speed gearbox, air clutch, and a hugely powerful 5.9ltr Cummins engine, complete with turbo and intercooler – fitted right here at the Shack.
With all that power, we thought it was right to seriously beef up the brakes, in fact, replacing them entirely, with a set of air-over-hydraulic brakes that, in the American parlance, ‘stop on a quarter and leave a dime’.
An air-ride system, with roughly 5-inches of travel, leaving the truck resting on its sills, makes for both a great showpiece, a practical option for speed bumps and a great ride.
Outside, huge house-built exhaust stacks give this truck yet another entirely unique aspect, although it’s hard to say that they dominate, as that accolade must fall to the wood-finished, remote-controlled, custom tipping bed, complete with hidden ramps and built-in lockers. The bed measures in at 18ft long and 7ft 2 wide, giving the truck in its entirety a length of 29ft!
The exterior has been completed with a one-off paint job, befitting this already award-bound machine.
Inside, the cab plays host to a classic three-seat bench, covered in a rich dark leather, with stitching to compliment the paintwork.
This really is a one-of-a-kind vehicle, ideal for anyone with a car or motorbike collection they want to transport in unrivalled style. Or someone who simply loves a proper American classic done right.
